Leaders should lead by example.

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Since Nancy Pelosi is one of the eager “Close Gitmo” people and she fancies herself as a leader, it would seem appropriate for her to supply the solution to the question of: “What do we do with the detainees”.   Since it appears they will be moved within the boundaries of our Nation, what better place to move them than to Alcatraz in San Fransisco?

Think about it.  It would not take much effort to convert the old facility back into a high security prison.   Since it is in the middle of the bay, it would be difficult for the prisoners to escape, and as for the designation of the location as a US National Park, I am pretty confident that courts would see logical reason that since the facility is being used as a prison, the area is being used as originally intended.   Besides, what better way of treating these poor, abused, detainees who would never go out and harm a fly?    She should also consider the very critical component of the extra money this would bring into the State of California and her own home town.

Obama starting his presidency in style!

In 2004, the economy was good, in fact tremendous compared to now, and the Libs blasted $42 Million for the inauguration. Woopdee freakin doo!
Obama cronies spend $140 Million in the worst economy in most of our lifetime. Nope, no hypocrisy here, Is there?

The 44th President

Well, overall, the speech was good.  Generic, but good.   While I dislike his idea increasing government’s role in our lives, I am glad he set himself up to listen to reasoned argument that we should be taking the the Founding documents seriously.    Yet… despite that, he talks about increasing governments role in the private sector.

Quite a disconnect.

The best part was when Dianne Finestein spoke.    She spoke about non violence being the best way to gain Freedom.   Assuming she meant the insistence of freedoms gauranteed per the constitution, I suppose that was good.  Except she did not make any such clarification.  So there I watched, surrounded by men and women who volunteered their lives for the protection of this Nation as she announces we can gain Freedom without violence.

Really?  What would the British have said to that in 1776?   Hitler or the Japanese in 1941?  Those were fights, tooth and nail, for the freedom we enjoy and so frivolously waste away by giving it up to the Government.    The peaceful Civil Rights marches were effective, not because violence was to win freedom, but because Freedom and Liberty was already gauranteed.

How to go Bankrupt in 5 easy steps:

Friday, January 9th, 2009
  1. Spend more than you make
  2. Borrow to pay the difference between expenditures and earnings
  3. Borrow to pay for the borrowing.
  4. Repeat until you can no longer borrow.
  5. Declare Bankruptcy.

How Government can speed the process up:

  1. Over budget and refuse to decrease spending.
  2. Increase taxes to cover the difference.
  3. Give money away to those producing the least.
  4. Tax the more productive to cover the increased spending.
  5. Expect an increase in productivity to tax.
  6. Call it a revenue shortage and go to step 1.

I thought that this was a very well given speech concerning belief.
