Hey, I like it but the volume is so low I didn’t think it was playing – can you bump it up from your end?

  2. Hmmm… I’ll address that, thanks.

    edit: fixed it.

Here are some of the item slated for Pasadena according to http://www.stimuluswatch.org

Replacement of incandescent traffic signal indicators with light-emitting diode (LED) indicators. Pasadena CA 40 $2,400,000 Streets/Roads 0
Roadway improvements at Hahamongna Watershed Park for safety purposes including resurfacing, striping and slurry sealing, widening, and repairs to guard railing. Pasadena CA 27 $1,600,000 Streets/Roads -4

Installation of a traffic signal at Mountain and City Yards. Traffic signals will utilize LED indicators. Pasadena CA 3 $200,000 Streets/Roads +1
Installation of residential street lighting on Carmelo from Villa to Lambert. Pasadena CA 3 $171,000 Streets/Roads 0
Installation of residential street lighting on Del Rey from Woodlyn to Washington. Pasadena CA 2 $147,000 Streets/Roads 0
Installation of residential street lighting on Daisy from Villa to Del Vina. LED lighting. Pasadena CA 1 $86,000 Streets/Roads +1
Installation of residential street lighting on Lakewood Place. LED lighting. Pasadena CA 1 $74,000 Streets/Roads +1

At first look a million dollars worth of FREE LED street lights looks great. Wow- Free lights. But how do they help the economy? Pasadena already has light bulb installers, so the “free lunch money” won’t be creating any new private sector jobs. And where are the lights made? By the looks of all the new ones in town, I’d say thaey’re made in China. Why-doyou ask?

As you drive the Pasadnea streets look for the new GREEN LED Traffic Lights. So far I’ve spoted over a DOZEN that have burnt out bulbs (Each light is made with about 100 independent LED bulbs and they are supposed to last for 20,000 to 100,000 hours.

Pasadena needs to return all of the LED bulbs to the vendor and get our tax dollars back…and charge the vendor for the labor as well.

So righ now Pasadena does not need a free hand out from the FEDS.

On another note, because the million dollars in (possibly defective) Light Bulbs will do nothing for our or the USA’s economy we MUST respectfully decline the gift. It’s the right thing to do. We are a city of hard working people who contribute to society. We are not a welfare city, nor should we be extending our hand out like we are in despair. Pasadena needs to stand up and say “No Thank You President Obama, spend our money where it will make a difference in the economy.”

Unfortunately, I don’t think Obama will listen very well. May even accuse you of listening to “divisive” radio talk show hosts.

This may be on the Humor side. But I have a problem with the lighter side of it. There are too many facts that prevent me from laughing. I’m scared as hell! I have stopped investing and have been putting into savings for now.

Here is an opinion from one of (dare I say) Obama’s Brothers.

woops, thought this was in the humor column. :) forgot where I was.

  7. Yeah, I like a lot of what I have so far seen of Allen Keys. I pulled my 401k in the advent of a possible Argentine-esque seize of the private 401k retirements which some Dems have been smacking their chops over.

    Looking for the linkie.
